KCCHSD Welcomes Physician Assistant Kristen Janssen to Medical
Staff.
The Kit Carson County Health Service District is pleased to announce
the addition of Kristen Janssen, PA-C to the District Medical
Staff.
Janssen has joined the medical staff at Kit Carson County Memorial
Hospital, and will be seing patients primarily at the Stratton
Medical Clinic in Stratton, Colorado. Janssen will also see patients
at the Parke Health Center in Burlington one day a week.
Janssen recently completed a two-year family practice at the Buckley
Air Force Base, in Aurora, CO. At Buckley, Janssen managed the
Women’s Health Clinic providing routine women healthcare,
endometrial biopsies and annual PAPs. She also focused on Pediatric
care, which is a particular area of interest.
Janssen will provide a complete range of family practice care
at SMC, but admits her interests lay in serving the health care
needs of women and children. She resides in Stratton with her
10-year-old daughter, Annie. Her daughter is a 5th grader at the
Stratton Elementary School and she enjoys playing the trumpet
and barrel racing. Janssen said both her and Annie have been warmly
welcomed into the community and are looking forward to meeting
more residents of Kit Carson County.
Janssen began seeing patients at the Stratton Medical Clinic
on January 17th. SMC office hours will be Monday-Thursday 9 am
to 4:30 pm; Wednesday 9 to Noon. To make an appointment to see

KCCMH Laboratory Staff to Celebrate National Medical Laboratory
Week April 20 – 26th.
This year the lab staff at KCCMH plans to celebrate National
Lab Week with a Cake Decorating Contest! Staff members will bring
in decorated cakes, which will be judge by the public and hospital
staff. Jars will be placed by each cake an you can “vote”
for your favorite, by making a “monetary donation”
to the jar. At the end of the contest, thewinning cake will be
announced, all the cakes will be served to staff and guest of
the hospital ; and the money raised from the contest will be donated
to the Kit Carson County Cancer Fund, for county residents battling
cancer.
Construction on the Hospital Project is in full swing . The Hospital
plans to hold tours of the building site during
National Hospital Week in May. Check this site in early May for
times and dates of the tours.
